The check-in of the passengers and baggage is made at the airlines check-in counter in the airport. The passenger must come to check-in according to the rules established at the specific airport but anyway he must come in advance to pass all the administrative formalities and procedures of check-in before the flight departure.
The time of start and end of check-in counter work at the airport is assigned by the authorized representative of the airlines.
Usually, the check-in starts:
- on international flights: 2,5 - 2 hours prior to the departure time mentioned in the ticket,
- on domestic flights - 1,5 hours prior to departure.
The check-in ends:
- 40 min prior to departure on international flights;
- 30 min prior to departure on domestic flights.
If the passenger had come to check-in after it’s closing, means less than 40 min prior to international flight departure and 30 minutes prior to domestic flight departure or he had come with incorrectly formalized documents then the airlines may not accept him for transportation and void the booking made for him. As a rule, business-class passengers check-in on the separate counter or out of turn. Almost in all large airports the business-class passengers during waiting time after the check-in may stay in business-lounge.
